This scanning unit of contactless identification cards is designed for access systems. It can be used outside or in particularly exposed environments.
After the identification item has been brought close to the scanning unit, identification is signalled optically (change of colour of LED diodes) and acoustically. The card number and time of access are stored in internal memory. The scanning units are connected to the application software. Individual events are listed from the units for further processing. The scanning units receive information about e.g. access rights of individual holders of the identification items. The scanning units are powered by a back-up energy supply source in case of a power cut.
