What is a contactless identification system

Identification systems represent a complex approach to identification of persons, property and vehicles in a company. Depending on the application, the system can be used to record and automatically process the employees‘ attendance (attendance system), to monitor and secure entries into designated areas (access system), to ensure the meal distribution system for the company employees, to evaluate work efficiency, or to provide other functionalities. All the applications utilize the same identification elements (card, key ring), which the employees use to identify themselves by bringing the identification card close to the scanning unit. It is not necessary to take the identification element out of the pocket or bag, the number is read correctly through any non-metallic material. Utilization of chip cards as an identification medium of persons and as carriers of personal information enables development of new applications and at the same time it ensures a significantly higher level or information security of the scanned data, including their processing and administration.

What are the advantages of a contactless identification system

System BIS® minimizes the time senior executives require to complete routine activities. Strategic decisions are supported by accurate and structured data (information about present and absent employees, statistics and overview of sickness rate, leaves, and other reasons for absence, etc.) with an option to evaluate the data by individuals, centres, or the whole company. At the end of every month, the system simplifies the work of the personnel and wage departments by transferring the required data to the wage system. It also provides the employees with an instant overview of their attendance. The system BIS® minimizes the human error.

How the system BIS works – what the system offers and what it consists of

The main parts of the system BIS® are:

identification elements (key rings or card) – used to carry out identification
Reading units (hardware) – records of entries, handling of doors, turnstiles, barriers, EZS, etc.
Software (communication and application software) – processing and evaluation of identifications

The system BIS® offers:

Originally developed hardware and software of the system BIS® that allows for flexible changes and adjustments according to individual requirements
Constant development of the system according to the users‘ suggestions
Legislative updating
Interconnection with other systems, data export and import
Intuitive hardware and software, user friendly environment
System BIS® is modular, individual applications can be integrated in stages
24 month guarantee, complex service for the duration of contract
Application client – server
Internet interface, statistical outputs in charts
Certificates NBÚ (National Security Authority), OBÚ (Local Mining Authority)
Permitting access, including time zones and PIN codes
Biometry
Language localisation of the application software
Self diagnostics of the scanning units, remote exchange of firmware
A large display of the scanning unit, an extensive memory
Communication TCP/IP, RS485, RS232

Licensing of the system

The system BIS® software comprises two main parts:

Communication software – ensures mutual communication between the application software and the scanning units, licence according by number of scanners

Application software (attendance, access, meal distribution) – licence by number of cards in the system (50, 100, 300, 500, etc).
Licence to application software is issued for the network version.
